We have met so many people asking "What is meditation?", "Why are we meditating?", "How can we meditate?", "How easy or difficult is it?", "Is it really working?"

For this reason, Steve will be answering all of your questions and will teach you how to start a regular and steady practice of mindfulness meditation of your own.

We will be taking us through one of the deepest and most profound meditation techniques, known as Vipassana or Mindfulness meditation.

About Mindfulness:
Mindfulness meditation is a practice that can lead to profound insight and a deep understanding of oneself and the world around you. It encourages a calm mental state that is achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. Mindfulness meditation is being used extensively around the world as a powerful therapeutic technique for calming stress, alleviating anxiety, resolving depression and even eliminating physical pain.

How to come prepared:

A little about the host:
Steve has been exploring the practice of meditation for more than 25 years in a variety of traditions. He has been teaching meditation and healing for the past 22 years, drawing on simple mindfulness as well as complex tantric meditation practices. He has trained with the Vipassana Fellowship and is currently studying with Breathworks - the world's lead body in the practical use of mindfulness meditation as a medical/health intervention. He has written on meditation for a variety of outlets and is currently gearing up to extend his own mindfulness practice through attending a vipassana retreat at the Forest Hermitage Thai Buddhist monastery in the UK. He is also the author of the book ‘Reiki Jin Kei Do: The Way of Compassion and Wisdom’ which looks at the therapeutic benefits of meditation in the context of energy healing.
