Menstrual Cycle Awareness Workshop & Discussion
Menstrual Cycle Awareness Workshop & Discussion DATE: Saturday 26/5/18 TIME: 10:30-12:30 (There will be a Children's Mandala Art class running parallel to this for parents attending with children. Those who prebook will receive €2 OFF) WORKSHOP INFO: Studies show women are twice as likely to be depressed as men. Why is this? Could it be because we have been taught to experience ourselves –our female bodies– as something to be ignored, ornamented and medicalized? Could it be because we live in a world that trivializes every one of our powerful female experiences? Could it be because like all things natural we are cyclical beings, trying to operate within counter-cyclical structures? Could it be because we have forgotten our built-in rhythms and sources of power and wisdom? ACTIVITIES: The morning's activities will start with a heart-womb-sensing yoga nidra (guided relaxation) and will be followed by an interactive introduction to the concept of "menstruality consciousness" – a healing mindfulness practice for women. Women of ALL ages and stages welcome, menarche to menopause and beyond! Please message or call Iole at 97903265 or Tree of Life to register your attendance. ADMISSION: €7 contribution to snacks, space and materials. ***There will be a children's activity running in parallel should child-minding be a challenge for anyone. Please contact Tree of Life for more information on this.*** ABOUT THE FACILITATOR: Iole Damaskinos–Vernhes has a background in psychology, education and Ayurvedic healing.
